J.D. Miller, Jr., OD
  
Dr. J.D. Miller, Jr. received his education from Louisiana State University at Eunice with a major in pre-optometry (Dean's list and a founding member of the Zeta Alphi Phi fraternity)[undergraduate studies], completing his Bachelor of Science and his Doctor of Optometry at the University of Houston (graduated Cum Laude). He began practicing at his current location in June of 1983. He has received post-graduate training (100 hours) at LSU for further training in therapeutic optometry and as such is an Optometric Physician. He is an active member in the American Optometric Association (AOA)(including the Contact Lens and Cornea Section), the Optometric Association of Louisiana (OAL), the International Society of Advanced Orthokeratology (ISAOK) and a consulting staff member at the Acadian Medical Center in Eunice and a consulting staff member at Allen Parish Hospital in Kinder.

  
He also volunteers his time on a regular basis at the United Community Health Clinic, which is a charity clinic serving St. Landry, Acadia and Evangeline Parishes, and is the staff eye doctor at this clinic from 2003 to present. He is serving a 5 year term on the Louisiana Board of Optometry Examiners (beginning Sept. 2006).

 
His numerous activities in the community include, not only his optometric activities here in Eunice, but also membership in the Eunice Kiwanis Club. He is a retired rooster in the Eunice Jaycees and a current member of Eunice Chamber of Commerce, as well as, an active member of the Eunice Mardi Gras Association.

Specialty areas of practice include:
1. glaucoma treatment and management
2. dry eye treatment
3. complex contact lens evaluation and treatment
4. post operative care of cataract patients
5. pre and post operative care of refractive surgery patients, including LASIK, CK, Hyperopic LASIK,PRK, and other procedures
6. treatment of red eye
7. removal of ocular foreign bodies
8. consultations with primary care physicians regarding diabetic eye disease and high-risk medications capable of ocular complications
9. Accelerated Corneal Therapy with Wavefront Corneal Molding
10. Macular degeneration management
11. Low Vison and Vision Rehabilitation

Jack D. Miller, OD (retired)

Dr. Jack Miller received his education from Louisiana State University and the Southern College of Optometry, receiving both his Bachelor's degree and Doctor of Optometry. He has practiced in Eunice for 40+ years. He has received post-graduate training (100 hours) at LSU for further training in therapeutic optometry and as such is an Optometric Physician. He is an active member in the American Optometric Association, the Optometric Association of Louisiana, and a consulting staff member of the Eunice Community Medical Center. His numerous activities in the community include, not only his optometric activities here in Eunice, but also memberships in the Eunice Lions Club and the Knights of Columbus. He is a retired rooster in the Eunice Jaycees, and a current member of Eunice Chamber of Commerce. He retired in October of 2005 and retired his licence in 2006. Dr. Miller obtained the Optometric Recognition Award in 2008 for 150 hours of continuing education (this is the initial award in a series). He is a Certified Wave Designer and can custom design via a CAD (computer assisted design) contact lenses for difficult cases.

Vicki - Insurance Coordinator

 
Vicki has been with us since November 1985. She files all insurance claims and will answer any insurance questions that you may have. She also will help at the front desk. She will be happy to assist with your insurance questions and claims.

Beth - Lab Manager

Beth has been with us since March 2005. She does all lab work,dispensing/adjusting, contact lens instructions and frame selection. She looks forward to helping with your eyecare needs.

Liz - Patient Coordinator

 
Liz has been with us since January 2006. She is our receptionist and will be glad to help you with your appointment.

Kylie - Certified Paraoptometric

 
Kylie has been with us since December 2005 and does preliminary testing and new patient histories, as needed. She became a certified paraoptometric (CPO) on June 15, 2008. She also helps with lab/dispensing duties, and is responsible for delenquent accounts and accounts payable. Kylie is married to Dean Doucet of Eunice. She has 3 children and 3 step-children. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, fishing, hunting and spending time with family and friends. She looks forward to assisting you.

Jessica - receptionist

 
Jessica has been with us since December 2005 and is our receptionist. She also helps with miscellaneous office duties. She looks forward to assisting you.

Amy - Certified Ophthalmic Tech
 
Amy has been with us since April 2008 and is the primary tech for preliminary testing and new patient histories. She became a certified paraoptometric (CPO) on June 15, 2008. She looks forward to assisting you.
